Music NewsNew Album From New Jersey Quintet Due October 24th

BURBANK, CA -- July 31, 2006 -- New Jersey rock quintet My Chemical Romance are currently recording their follow up to 2004's platinum-selling "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge." The forthcoming album will be released by Reprise Records on October 24th.

My Chemical Romance is comprised of singer Gerard Way, guitarist Ray Toro, bassist Mikey Way, guitarist Frank Iero, and drummer Bob Bryar, who have been writing songs for their forthcoming album since the release of the "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge." "Even though 'Three Cheers' hadn't been out that long, we could hardly wait to jump into album three," says Mikey Way. The band rigged up a makeshift studio at the back of their bus that they used to record ideas while on the road.

After a month of pre-production in New York in January 2006, My Chemical Romance relocated to Los Angeles in March to finish writing the album. They began laying down tracks at Eldorado Recording Studio in April with noted producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Alanis Morissette) manning the control board. "Rob was integral to this project," says Iero. "He has such a pure love of music that it becomes infectious. He can talk about music in terms of emotions, and help you convey those emotions in the correct way." Adds Toro: "Sonically, Rob is a master. It is a joy to watch him craft tones that make your song sound like you always dreamed it would."

Capturing the right emotions and sounds is critical for My Chemical Romance this time around, as they have grand plans for their new CD. "We want this to be the album that My Chemical Romance is remembered for," says Mikey. "We all have records that shaped our childhood and teen years. When you hear a song, it shoots you back to a moment in time. We want this album to do that for people. We want the entire world to be moved."

Indeed, My Chemical Romance, known for their incendiary life-changing live performances, have already engaged fans around the world. "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" has sold more than two million copies worldwide.
