Musicpix has covered Rise Against a lot over the past few years… We caught up with the band via an email interview before their biggest and latest news hit the streets just this week announcing their appearance at LA Rising with Rage Against The Machine, July 30th.
Read on…
Musicpix: Your Webisodes are really entertaining…you guys are pulling out all the new media stops to connect with fans. Talk about how Rise Against has embraced new media…
Rise Against: The webisodes have been really fun actually. It’s a great for fans to see what we’re doing on tour or in the studio. Hopefully it makes them feel like there a part of the whole Rise Against experience. The way bands connect to fans now a days is always changing. Anything we can do to make the fans feel involved we will do.
Musicpix: You have 1.7+ million Facebook fans. Talk about how you’ve integrated social media into Rise Against’s marketing formula.
Rise Against: It’s amazing we have a million Facebook fans. This is the new era. Fans and bands are connected like never before. I think there is good and bad with that. We try to focus on the good and connect with our fans in healthy ways.
Musicpix: You’ve been all over the world recently. Is your music received differently say from Australia to Antwerp to Austin?
Rise Against: The fans around the world have a lot of similarities actually…more so than differences.
Musicpix: Rise Against is a part of Rock vs. Cancer which raises awareness and money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Talk about why it’s important for your band to be connected to causes. We love being involved with these types of causes. Because we are in a band we have an audience.
Rise Against: As long as we have people listening we want to do what we can to help.
Musicpix: We’ve covered your performances three times so far (06, 08, 10) and fans are always given an energetic and memorable experience. Talk about how your live performance has evolved over the years.
Rise Against: We have become better musicians over the years which has allowed us to be more comfortable on stage. We have learned how to tour and put on a good show. Its gets better with each tour.
Musicpix: You returned to the US from a global onslaught on April 5th appearing at The Joint in Las Vegas and some shows are already sold out. Your calendar is packed through the summer too. How do you get re-energized and prepared for such an aggressive tour schedule?
Rise Against: Preparing for a tour has become a ritual at this point. Exercise, practice and stretching help prepare your muscles and mind.
Musicpix: Your 6th Studio album just released this Spring… Talk about Endgame and what fans should expect.
Rise Against: Expect a heavy Rise Against record with a great message!
