NEON TREES’ DEBUT ALBUM HABITS EXPLODES WITH #1 DEBUT ON ALTERNATIVE NEW ARTIST CHART
(March , 2010 - New York, NY) Living up to their status in Alternative Press as one of the “Bands To Watch In 2010,” the Utah-based Mercury Records group Neon Trees - who performed last night on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live - scores an impressive #1 Soundscan Alternative New Artist chart with their first album, HABITS (in stores March 23rd), featuring their debut single, “Animal", and Top 10 Overall at iTunes, where it garnered the rare 5-star iTunes customer rating. HABITS was driven by the Single Of The Week campaign for “Animal,” which also debuted at #1 on the Alternative Specialty Chart in its first week out in January.

Neon Trees began to receive maximum exposure in the weeks leading up to the release of HABITS, when “Animal” was featured on the January 31st episode of VH1’s new series, Secrets of Aspen. On March 16th, “Animal” was heard on the CW’s Melrose Place. The night before, on March 15th, the CW’s Life Unexpected featured another album track, “1983.”
The video for “Animal” - has been added to MTV2, MTVu, VH1 and FUSE. Showing off Neon Trees’ affinity for western plains friends (and fellow Island Def Jam label mates) the Killers. It was Las Vegas band the Killers who pulled Neon Trees out of obscurity in Provo, Utah, and exposed them to tens of thousands of new fans on tour. The dry desert vista of the “Animal” video pays homage to the Killers’ debut video, “Somebody Told Me.”
Bicoastal audiences caught their first glimpse of Neon Trees In January, when they made their New York City premiere at Mercury Lounge - followed by dates with Har Mar Superstar at Spaceland (Club NME) in Los Angeles and the Rickshaw Stop (Popscene) in San Francisco. In between, Neon Trees played back home at the 4th anniversary bash of Provo’s Velour Live Music Gallery. Neon Trees also appeared at this year’s SXSW (South By Southwest) Conference last week. Neon Trees are gearing up to join 30 Seconds To Mars on the road kicking off in April.
Neon Trees - Tyler Glenn (lead vocals, keyboards), Chris Allen (guitars), Branden Campbell (bass), and Elaine Bradley (drums, vocals) - has its roots in Southern California, where Tyler and Chris were neighbors. When Chris moved to Provo to attend college, Tyler followed him, and they were soon joined by Branden and Elaine.
HABITS, produced by the band’s friend, singer/guitarist Tim Pagnotta, is a blast of timeless rock energy and spirit that wouldn’t sound out of place at any point from ’60s garage-rock to 2010 dance rock and beyond. “Music is a sacred act of communion for me, offering hope and love,” says Tyler. “That’s the heart of this band.” Adds Chris, “We just want to share that feeling we got from the bands that inspired us, and then we want to pass the torch.” For more information go to www.NeonTrees.com.

Green Day Announce 2010 North American Summer Tour Dates
BURBANK, CA—(March 22, 2010) - Reprise Records’ multi-platinum rock band Green Day will hit the road with support from AFI in August for a series of North American tour dates produced by Live Nation. This is the second leg of the band’s critically acclaimed U.S. tour in support of their current gold-certified album 21st Century Breakdown, which won a 2010 Grammy Award for “Best Rock Album.”

In keeping with Green Day’s trailblazing and innovative mind-set, the band will feature all-inclusive ticket pricing for all tickets throughout their entire tour with no additional fees of any kind. A limited number of lawn seats will be offered for $20 when tickets go on sale to the general public. Tickets go on sale in select markets beginning March 26th at LiveNation.com.
Critics raved about the first leg of the 21st Century Breakdown tour, which launched in North America in July of 2009, before continuing on to Europe in the fall. “As if releasing a wave of energy that had been building up during their four-year hiatus from touring, Green Day poured all their heart and soul into a powerhouse two-hour set,” said Rolling Stone, while Spin noted that “the band’s relationship with its audience is disarmingly real, a cross generational give-and-take that’s as punk as any Gilman Street scroungers today.”
Released by Reprise Records on May 15th, 2009, 21st Century Breakdown debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, as well as on the Rock, Active Rock, and Alternative charts. The album has spawned two hit singles, “Know Your Enemy,” which has been certified gold, and the platinum-selling “21 Guns,” whose video won three 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, including “Best Rock Video.” The band took home their second American Music Award for “Favorite Alternative Music Artist” in November.
Green Day, which is singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool, are also gearing up for the Broadway premiere of American Idiot—the critically acclaimed stage version of Green Day’s chart-topping 2004 album that completed a record-breaking three-month run at The Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Directed by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening), who collaborated on the story with Armstrong, the show opens at the St. James Theatre on April 20th, 2010.

Puddle Of Mudd Announce New Single And US Tour Dates
After a successful winter tour through the thick of 2010’s epic snowfall in the east, multi-platinum rockers Puddle of Mudd, will continue their tour for warm weather west coasters. “As a California resident, I’m looking forward to heating up my adopted state with more new music from Volume 4” says frontman Wes Scantlin, adding “but we will be making our way east as well!”
<!—break—>
The tour kicks off on April 1st in Anaheim, CA and extends into the spring summer with festival dates, including Rock On The Range, May 22 in Columbus OH. On the road, Puddle of Mudd will highlight a musical career created for and crafted by a close relationship with their fans. “We write songs for our fans, so you better believe we’ll continue to play the hits along the way” states Scantlin. And there is a long line of hits to be had - including Blurry, She Hates Me, Control, Psycho and the first track from Volume 4, “Spaceship.” The tour actually began on January 21st in Providence, RI and included sold out stops at NYC’s Nokia Theatre and more. This latest leg hits San Francisco, Reno, Denver and then winds its way back through the Midwest and all the way down to Tampa. Enthused to be back on the road, Scantlin says, we are always excited to be performing together in front of our fans, and are looking forward to bringing it to those in warmer weather, whove patiently waited these last few months.”
For this run, the lead off track from Volume 4, “Stoned” is currently impacting at radio. Will it hit number one? Well, why wouldn’t it? Since Puddle of Mudds 2001 debut album, Come Clean, the group has had five #1 songs on Billboards Mainstream Rock chart, tied for second-most this decade with 3 Doors Down, Godsmack and Linkin Park - (Billboard Magazine, 11/28). With the release their fourth studio set, VOLUME 4: SONGS IN THE KEY OF LOVE & HATE, last December, Puddle Of Mudd have clearly continued perform their way into the hearts and heartland of America.
