Coachella Music and Arts Festival
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is considered THE premiere music event that tells the music industry to WAKE UP! from its long winter’s nap. In its 11th year, Coachella has historically kicked off the summer concert season at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California to massive crowds who’ve come for the best sights and sounds of the Coachella Valley. Attendees come from all over the world to hang out for three days in the desert with over 70,000 of their closet musical friends to celebrate the musical thread that connects them.
Street Sweeper Social Club
As this three-day marathon enters its second decade, there’s been buzz about it returning to the early mystical vibe of its youth. 2010 Coachella appears to be truer to the roots of the festival with a stronger more diverse lineup than others that promoter Goldenvoice has presented in prior years.
The entire three day lineup is magical and magnetic and the talent is stacked wide and deep into three days. Headlining Coachella this year is hip-hop’s Jay-Z, along with English art-rock trio Muse and Gorillaz, the futuristic cartoon hit-makers fronted by Damon Albarn of the Blur. But Coachella isn’t all about the headliners…there’s plenty of artists to enjoy across multiple stages.
DAY 1 MUSICPIX HIGHLIGHTS: Jay-Z, Street Sweeper Social Club, The Specials, Imogen Heap, Calle 13, Echo & the Bunnymen, P.O.S., She & Him, Alana Grace and Deer Tick.

Prior to the May dates, Cypress Hill will be previewing songs from the new album with a string of special shows beginning April 10th in Philadelphia. On April 19th, they’ll give a special outdoor stage performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," where they’ll be joined by Rage Against The Machine/Street Sweeper Social Club/The Nightwatchman guitarist TOM MORELLO (who pulled double duty as the producer and co-writer of the single "Rise Up"). In August, Cypress Hill will join Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson and Phoenix as part of the Mile High Festival and Soundgarden, Green Day and Lady Gaga as part of Lollapalooza 2010.
Cypress Hill has debuted the full length music video for "Armada Latina" on MTV. "Armada Latina" features special guest appearances from singer/songwriter Marc Anthony and rapper Pitbull and will appear on the hip-hop legends first studio album under the Priority/EMI label, Rise Up.
In addition to the "Armada Latina" video premiere, check out the MySpace exclusive Artist On Artist interview featuring Cypress Hill and Snoop Dogg. Snoop and the Cypress guys discuss how they came together to put out Rise Up through Snoop’s label, Priority Records.
