Steve Miller Band 2010 Tour Dates
New York, NY: Legendary rock icon Steve Miller Band will kick off a highly anticipated North American tour May 21st in Las Vegas in a new show designed by acclaimed Broadway director Rob Roth. The tour will support his new album BINGO!, which lands in stores June 15th on Miller’s Space Cowboy Records in partnership with Roadrunner/Loud & Proud Records. Having sold more than 30 million records, The Steve Miller Band’s trademark sound is a mainstay of rock radio. His yearly summer tour extravaganza has become an anticipated annual event for millions of rock fans.
Co-produced by Miller and engineer Andy Johns (Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix), BINGO! is the first of two albums recorded at George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch. The sessions introduced new band member Sonny Charles a veteran vocalist of the Checkmates who will also be on the road this summer with Miller. These were the final sessions by harmonica player and vocalist Norton Buffalo, Miller’s “partner in harmony” for 33 years, who died of cancer in October 2009.
While the tour will feature his classic rock anthems “Fly Like an Eagle,” “The Joker,” “Rock ‘n Me,” “Take the Money and Run,” and “Abracadabra,” among others, Miller will also perform selected tracks from BINGO! which echoes his early days on the Chicago scene. On Bingo! Miller has spiced some of the tracks with the Latin percussion battery of conga player Michael Carabello, founding member of Santana, and timbales ace Adrian Areas, son of Carabello’s partner from the original group, Jose “Chepito” Areas. Guitarist Joe Satriani traded solos on ‘Rock Me Baby’ and ‘Sweet Soul Vibe’ with Miller, whose brilliant guitar playing was a major feature of the sessions.
BINGO! will be released in 2 formats: a 10-track digipack CD and a special edition with 4 bonus tracks and expanded artwork. The album’s artwork is a creation of legendary Storm Thorgerson whose album packages for Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd are the gold standard in artistic design. The album is a fully realized mature work of a master craftsman, in a sense, “BINGO!” is the album Steve Miller has been waiting all his life to make.
The Steve Miller Band is a centerpiece attraction of the summer rock concert season playing sixty or more shows every year. He is the Gangster of Love. Some people call him Maurice, the Midnight Toker or the Space Cowboy. And with BINGO!, a masterpiece album by one of the greats, Steve Miller shows he still speaks of the pompitus of love.

Pearl Jam Live in Indianapolis - A Fan’s Perspective - Live Photos - Tour Schedule
Verizon Wireless Amphitheater | Indianapolis, IN | 05/07/10
From the perspective of a long time fan…
Oh the beautiful moments at last night’s Pearl Jam show in Noblesville, Indiana. Despite all the complaints I heard from people about the venue, this show was my 10th show in 17 years of being a fan club member. "Deer Creek Music Center" has always turned the lawn into a giant planetarium set to music. So what if last night’s weather was not perfect. Beauty is always found in imperfection. Some just aren’t able to see that. There is no imperfection in this band.

Seeing Pearl Jam play live, is almost as wonderful as falling in love.
I waited 17 years to take my teenage son to see this time lasting group of amazingly energetic musicians. I held my son’s hand during the song Just Breath. I realized there is an everlasting story that goes with the love people have for Mr. Vedder and the guys. It started when my own child was just a baby. How very very grateful I am that they still kick out tunes you can’t help but adore. From the manic “Got Some” to the sad pain of “Release”, it’s a true emotional experience.
Pearl Jam endures. They are fine crystal. Beautiful always and even more euphoric with aged wine poured in. They become more popular, more talented as time goes by. The venue was full of people of all ages, some having been there from the beginning of the”Ten” album.
Looking back at the patient cold and wet crowd on the lawn, I recognized loyalty. Despite some possible horrible weather, the fans endured. Because, once hooked, you are forever sticky with band jam! I believe in all the years of being in the fan club and loving this band, I have never seen them so happy to still be giving us what they give. A 100% effort to make everyone happy.

It’s such a joy to watch the boys change, grow, age and know..They are teachers. I observed Ed, Stone and Matt talk while Mike was doing his Star Spangled Banner solo and what I noticed was a genuine love and admiration these men have between each other. They are a family. The chemistry they exude when together is rare in music today..that chemistry also is altruistic. They give more back to charities than I ever knew. They care about people, especially the underdogs of this world.
I don’t think anything, rain, tornadoes, long lines, will ever over shine what the music does to me and those that came last night. What Mr. Vedder invokes when he says things like "I’d like to dedicate this song to someone and they know who it is," allows everyone to escape into a land of "this feels like it was written just for me." He saves people with his lyrical message of understanding, being for the underdog and teaching by example…be good to one another. I know the music has saved this writer from life’s cold exterior on many occasions.
Lines, waits, inconveniences, these things will never outshine what secrets this group of gifted humble hard working men give the world.
I ask my teen, "what do you think about Pearl Jam?" His response: ‘Mom, I like how intense Ed is. He makes me feel free to let go and the music is so uplifting that I feel like I’m being raised above the floor."
Good boy. Good day. Good men, these altruistic friends who create music that seems to never leave you.
I will forever love Pearl Jam. I have never seen another band that gives and gives until they are spent. They truly love their fans…as Mike McCready said, "God I love the Midwest." The Midwest needs them too.
From the perspective of a mother, a music lover and a person who looks for those who lead with positive messages, with intense loyalty to their fan base, they are Gods of Rock n Roll.
