Staind, Seether, Papa Roach and State of Shock ploughed through the Pepsi Coliseum, Indianapolis, Indiana on November 23, 2008 to a welcoming crowd. Billed as the headliners, Staind is touring in support of their 6th studio album, "The Illusion of Progress" that was released in August 2008.Aaron Lewis & Co. sprinkled new material alongside old during the set. Considered as an A-List Metal Band, Staind offered a solid near two hour performance with highlights throughout the 14 songs. Opening with a laser-light version of "Suffocate" followed by the crowd favorite "Falling," set the stage forr the entire luscious and amazingly precise metal set. An acoustic solo mid-set version of "Epiphany" was also memorable.Throughout the balance of their set, Frontman Aaron Lewis' vocals rang clear with blow-torch precision alongside of Mike Mushok (guitar) who provided most of the visual entertainment as he thrashed for most of the performance.

Seether
Seether’s frontman Shaun Morgan offered one of his most energetic visual performances of late with bright red hair blazing complemented with mic stands draped in white Christmas lights. The band’s latest release “Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces” was interlaced with hits from their breakthrough album “Karma & Effect.” Morgan & Co. used scratchy squealing guitar solos as segues throughout the set. Although “Broken” got a rough start, the song itself ended up being a set highlight with Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach joining Morgan in the duet. “Broken” was originally recorded featuring Morgan’s ex-flame Amy Lee of Evanescence. Seether closed out their performance strong with house favorite “Remedy.”

Papa Roach
Although Papa Roach played second inside the four band roster, Jacoby Shaddix lit up the entire night with his energy and talent. During “To Be Loved,” Jacoby lapped the entire coliseum; pumping his fists and running through the crowd stopping along the way to interact with his fans. Once he returned to the stage, Shaddix brought out a little boy (we’re guessing is his son) by saying “we’ve got a little rocker in training.” The kid was armed with a can of silly string and proceeded to nail a security guard at the front of the stage with string. Jacoby then spoke about their upcoming 2009 release entitled “Metamorphosis” and launched into two new songs, "Hollywood Whore" and "Lifeline." “Last Resort” polished off their set with the crowd celebrating by singing in unison.

State of Shock
Hailing from Canada, State of Shock warmed up the crowd but it wasn’t their music that made the audience toasty. Foul-mouthed lead vocalist Cam Melnyk couldn’t make it through a sentence without multiple f*bombs so the crowd appeared to be ‘in a state of shock.’ Sadly, Cam’s profanity took away from their overall performance. In an effort to pump up last-minute holiday sales, the band offered a sneak peak of “Too Pretty” which is to be released just before Christmas on December 23, 2008.
