The Fray ignited the July 4th weekend at The Lawn at White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana to a sold out house.  Openers Richard Swift and Jack’s Mannequin set up the easy listening outdoor party as this bill attracted all ages in search of everything fun and summer. The stage itself presented a mesmorizing light show which also featured four isolated cameras giving the audience a bird's eye view of each band member’s individual performance.

The Fray’s lead vocalist, Isaac Slade appeared in the spotlight without his piano for the first few songs offering his distinctive raspy voice which sounded as good (or even better) than recorded.  After fan favorite "Over My Head" (Cable Car) Slade asked the audience, "Are you guys ready to bring out the piano?  It's been a couple of years since we've been here.  The last time we were in Indy, we were swarmed by these indigenous bugs called Midges.  There was an apocalyptic plague of these bugs so I'm happy that they are not here now..."  After sharing his self-proclaimed ‘selfish story, the band launched into "How to Save a Life" and the audience sang along joyfully with every word.

Considering that the band has only two major releases (How To Save a Life/2005 and The Fray/2009, The Fray filled up the entire set with well produced and radio (and TV) friendly tunes.  "Over My Head" (Cable Car) kicked started the Grammy nominated band's career but it was their TV exposure that put them on the map.  "You Found Me" debuted during a commercial break for ABC's Grey's Anatomy which launched the foursome into millions of living rooms.  "How to Save a Life" was first featured during an episode of Grey's Anatomy and also on an episode of Scrubs.  "How to Save a Life", "Look After You", "You Found Me" and "Never Say Never" have been featured on the teen drama show One Tree Hill and a handful of others too.   Without question, The Fray has that magical combination of musical talent and stage appeal but never doubt the power of television.

So for a good (summer ) time, catch this tour before they travel to Europe this fall.
