3OH!3, Cobra Starship, Iyaz and Kaci Battaglia Rock Santa Slam

Hosted by WNOU 100.9 FM, Santa Slam '09, Murat Theater, Indianapolis, IN offered a diverse lineup of Top 40's acts which included 3OH!3, Cobra Starship,  Iyaz and Kaci Battaglia.

3OH!3

Named after the Boulder/Denver, CO Zip Code, 3OH!3 is best known for their hit single "Don't Trust Me" and their recent single "Starstrukk" featuring Katy Perry.  Without question, the duo is a fun band to put you in the holiday spirit.

3OH!3 has the Warped Tour to thank for their rising star as they’ve appeared for the last few years at the annual summer musical circus.  The band consists of pair of University of Colorado students, Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte .  Known for their hand sign mentioned in the song "Holler 'til You Pass Out," they’ve gotten serious mileage out of creating 3 O 3 with their fingers!?!

Cobra Starship

Given the nod by Patrick Stump, (Fall Out Boy & Decaydance Records) Cobra Starship is an alternative rock/dance band.  Their first album, “While the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets,” included  the single “Bring It” which was featured during the closing credits of the film Snakes on a Plane.   Their sophomore effort, Viva La Cobra! was produced by Patrick Stump, who was also credited as singing some backup vocals.  Touring in support of their latest release,  Hot Mess , Cobra Starship is following pretty much the same formula.

Worthy of special mention, Cobra Starship took their first trip in a private jet to Bloomington, Indiana to attend a charity event at Indiana University which also featured Girl Talk.  The October ‘09 charity event benefited a local shelter for battered women and was sponsored by Victoria's Secret.

Cobra Starship is worth a listent as this band is fun, energetic and humble considering one of their latest songs is entitled "Pete Wentz Is the Only Reason We're Famous."
Musicpix talked to Cobra Starship a couple of years ago just as their starship was launching.  Read Cobra Starship Interview Here.

Iyaz

Riding the wave of his #1 Billboard Top 40 single “Replay,” Virgin Island- born Iyaz is island pop electonica.  Getting started, Iyaz studied digital recording in college and found radio success in the Caribbean.   Iyaz made an impression on many, but he had a significant impact on fellow islander Sean Kingston who has given a hand in launching his career.  Watch for Iyaz’ sophomore effort in 2010.

Kaci Lyn Battaglia

Hottie Kaci Lyn Battaglia (also known as Kaci) certainly warmed up the evening appearing in a leather jumpsuit.    Multi-talented Kaci is not only easy on the eyes but she’s a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and professional kickboxing instructor.   At just 11 years old, Kaci independently released "A Thousand Stars," produced by her mother which caught the ear of legendary record producer Joel Diamond. Her debut single "Paradise" was released in 2001 and was a hit in England for a consecutive 12 weeks with sales of 2 million copies.

In 2009, Kaci altered her artist name by adding her last name to her work and just released "Crazy Possessive" which will certainly be censored by radio but greatly appreciated by the Internet.
