Saving Abel started as a little band in Corinth, Mississippi... but in just a few months after the release of their self-titled debut, Saving Abel is a BIG band with hit singles “Addicted”, “18 Days” and “Drowning.” Musicpix knows a rising star when we see it and these five guys can write a hit song. Catchy lyrics and hooks that stick... so we guarantee you’ll find yourself humming one of their choruses with just one listen.
After seeing a couple of Saving Abel performances, Musicpix caught up with Scott Bartlett- (Rhythm Guitar, Backing Vocals) for a phoner. Tune in:

The Alan Parsons Project debuted in 1976 with Tales of Mystery and Imagination, an LP inspired by the poetry of Edgar Allen Poe. 1977's I Robot put the band on the map charting at number 9 in the US, spawning hits such as I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You, Breakdown and Don't Let It Show. Sirius, a track from 1982's Eye In The Sky LP is a fan favorite at several NBA arenas as the background music for NBA player introductions.
Alan Parsons discography alone puts him in the class of classic rock royalty... yet his talents do not begin and end there. His career in the music industry began as an engineer. At the age of 18 he began his career with EMI. He then earned a post at Abbey Road Studios where he worked with The Beatles as an assistant engineer. He subsequently worked with Paul McCartney as the engineer on McCartney, Wings Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway. Parsons also was involved as an engineer on Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. The Spin Doctors are back in rotation after nearly a decade with original band
members Chris Barron, Eric Schenkman, Mark White and Aaron Comess. “Nice
Talking to Me” is the band’s first studio release in eleven years
after riding high on the huge success of “Pocket Full of Kryptonite”
which generated smash hit singles, “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong”
and “Two Princes.”

The Tenth annual Rib America Festival brought a diverse line-up of top national,
regional and local talent together during a picture perfect Labor Day weekend
in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Late summer sunshine and breezy cool evenings
provided the perfect environment for 13 performances in just 4 days. In the
wake of Hurricane Katrina, our Nation’s worst natural disaster, the majority
of the artists mentioned the catastrophe in their sets and asked for contributions
throughout the event. Rib America also made announcements during breaks reminding
attendees to support Hurricane Relief at Red Cross donation centers at the festival.( Read More)
Todd Park Mohr, lead guitarist and vocalist, formed Big Head Todd and the Monsters
with a couple of buddies almost twenty years ago. Todd Mohr, bassist Rob Squires,
and drummer Brian Nevin have spent most of their adult lives together making
music and touring the United States. Their debut album, Sister Sweetly, should
have made them superstars but Todd didn’t want to go that route, he wanted
his life and legacy to be about the music, and not burdening himself and the band with having to live up to early excessive commercial success.
MusicPix had the opportunity to sit down with Todd backstage at the Rib America Festival
in Indianapolis, Indiana, to talk about his choices, his band and his music.

"...there’s something about it…when artists become over-played….that
kind of success doesn’t last long and bands are always trying to keep
up with their initial success and it falls apart. Like I said, our fans believe
in us more than any record label has and so they’ve been the ones who
have determined the longevity of our career." -Todd Park Mohr
