Nothing spells a good time like a Green Day in concert. On tour in support of their latest CD '21st Century Breakdown', Green Day landed at Chicago's United Center to a nearly sold-out arena. After taking a long hiatus after their extremely successful American Idiot 2004 release and tour, Billie Jo Armstrong & Company are back to the business crafting musical messages and delivering them with a passionate punch.Opening the set with the single "21st Century Breakdown", and giving a healthy dose of longtime favorites like Longview and Basket Case, it's hard to imagine any Green Day fan leaving the United Center disappointed.

Green Day is back in America after a European mid-summer tour making their first stop to a sold-out Allstate Arena, Chicago, Illinois. Billie Joe & Co. continue their serious worldwide effort promoting the already mammoth American Idiot release with incredible talent and incredible energy. Proving to the world that America is not full of idiots, Green Day recently received a record breaking 8 MTV VMA Nominations: the Viewer's Choice Award (American Idiot), Video of the Year (Boulevard of Broken Dreams), Best Group Video (Boulevard), Best Rock Video (Boulevard), Best Direction in a Video (Boulevard), Best Art Direction in a Video (American Idiot), Best Editing in a Video (Boulevard) and Best Cinematography in a Video (Boulevard). It’s only fitting that Green Day will be performing at the 22nd annual VMA’s, August 28th.
Green Day crossed the coveted multi-generational bridge with the release of American Idiot with a thumb’s up from kids, cheers from punk rockers, and ‘ah-ha’ nods from the over-forty alternative listener.
Capitalizing on their (5) Grammy nominations and a Kid's Choice Award for Favorite Music Group in 2005, Green Day is everywhere. Although they only took home one Grammy for Best Rock Album, they won over a huge undiscovered audience. Combine the sheer amount of airplay that Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Holiday receive on MTV, mainstream radio, and full media coverage of their success, Green Day is making many bands and record companies green with envy.
