The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs performed on Day Three at Coachella in support of their latest release "It's Blitz!" The band is truly on an all out media blitz as they has appeared across the late night TV circuit last week on Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Fallon and David Letterman to promote their latest.

Morrissey kicked off his Coachella set with a classic Smiths tune 'This Charming Man' which was just one of several Smith songs that he performed at Coachella ’09. Touring in support of his latest release "Years of Refusal" and a companion backdrop a black-and-white photograph of the naked torso of a sailor smoking a cigar with the word 'Refusal' written across his chest. After performing 'Girlfriend in a Coma,’ Morrissey asked, "Does it sound OK?" and the crowd roared. There was certainly a positive vibe happening however, there was something in the air that didn't settle too well with him.

In her first public appearance since her pregnancy due-date and the 2009 Grammys collided, M.I.A. took the main stage at Coachella on Day Two performing before the day’s headliner, The Killers. As a Coachella vet, M.I.A. has been accustomed to performing in a cozy tent atmosphere but this year, she was upgraded to the main stage replacing Amy Winehouse who was forced to drop out of the fest after her application for a U.S. Visa was rejected. Shortly after taking the stage, she slid in a reference by singing, "They tried to make me do the Oscars, I said no, no, no. Just 'cuz I did the Grammys, it doesn't mean I've gone all sold out... let's take it back to the jungle."

Southern California has always had a huge fanbase for The Cure. Following in what seems to be a tradition of unusual events for the closing night headliner at the Coachella Valley Music Festival, The Cure treated their fans to a 3 hour plus set which exceeded the curfew. Although the PA system was turned off and the vast majority of fans had left. Robert Smith and company returned to the stage aand played to the remaining fans using only their stage monitors. Fans flocked back to the stage to hear a very special Coachella moment. You'd think you'd "see pigs fly" before something like this could happen... but then again we saw that at Coachella last year!
