The entertainment news scene is filled with tales of artists with egomaniacs and self destructive behavior. It's a tale too often publicized and a view our voyeuristic society seems fixated upon. Indeed there is good in the entertainment world. Hanson and HelloGoodbye kick of their "Use Your Sole" today in Hanson's home state of Oklahoma. The tour, presented by Tom's Shoes includes a Walk Around The World before each concert at venues and on college campuses, with tour mates HelloGoodbye taking part in the one-mile treks with HANSON and TOMS Shoes.

Musicpix had the opportunity to visit with Serena Ryder during her sound check prior to her solo acoustic performance at the Vogue Theater in Indianapolis, Indiana. Touring in advance of her first major label release in the U.S. on September 15, 2009 entitled “is it o.k.” (which has already been certified Gold in Canada), Serena’s performance was the perfect set up for Jakob Dylan’s band The Wallflowers. Serena Ryder is an incredible talent. If you're a die-hard lover of music, most likely you are a fan of a band or two that are under the radar, bands that aren't house hold names (yet) or you have to worry about standing in line for 12 hours in hopes of scoring a nosebleed ticket. I'm going to be both politically and musically sensitive... John Parish and PJ Harvey stand side by side in their illustriousness. Over a 20+ year career, the team of PJ Harvey and John Parish have laid down a trail of musical genious. Though best known for his work with PJ Harvey, John Parish has also worked The EELS, Tracy Chapman, Sparkelhouse, Goldfrapp and many others.

Shane Told and Silverstein are on a mission. Though the words were not spoken during our interview prior to Silverstein's tour opener with supporting acts Norma Jean, Blessthefall and Before Thier Eyes... you could sense the air of pupose and confidence in Shane Told's demeanor. It's hard to believe that Silverstein has been around for 9 years. Their 4th studio album "AShipwreck in the Sand" is due for release on March 31st.

St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated a wee bit early at The Vogue, Indianapolis with Indy’s X103’s St. Patty’s show featuring Framing Hanley, the five-piece band that formed in 2005 in Nashville, Tennessee.  Touring in support of their first studio album, “The Moment,” Framing Hanley gave a performance that delivered a pot of rock-n-roll gold to a sold out house.

We’d taken a listen their debut and we were pretty impressed but after seeing their live performance, we’re even more so…Framing Hanley has that magical combination of talent and passion that leaves a mark.

It's so easy to get caught up in the hype and cartoonish behavior of the pop princesses who dominate the tabloid media's attention. Three women currently based out of San Francisco go by the name of Von Iva. Style, attitude, good music and a good time are what they bring to the party. We had the pleasure of catching their performance at Radio Radio in Indianapolis, Indiana. On tour supporting their excellent CD "Girls on Film", Von Iva is a group to watch.
